Learn relax, it will have many benefits:

  • Your real desires come on the surface;
  • You put into perspective everything that happens and are able to view those things from other angels;
  • Your health is better, you feel in condition and have more energy;
  • You are more yourself: you know by experience that when you have a vacation and are relaxed that you start to think about your life and consider if you are satisfied, and if not, you make plans to make things better.

Feeling relaxed is a condition to find your real desires and you want to learn relax, otherwise you would not read this page. Do you know the reasons behind your tensions? It is much easier to learn relax if you know them. So I start to ask you a few questions:
  • Do you work to hardly or to much?
  • Do you need to control everything in your life? Everything must go the way you want it? You don't trust other people 's way to handle the things that have to be done? Why is it that you have to control everything?
  • Do you worry about things that you are afraid of to happen? You worry always?
  • What else?
Fill in the blanks, you need to know the basics of your tensions first, then you can learn to relax.

Exercise to release

In all cases I recommend the next exercise:
Write down on a sheet of paper, or use your PC, all things you must do from yourself.

Do it this way: "I should....."
Write on each line one single thing, great or small. So if you have to make a cup of coffee, write it down, if you have to be in time on your workplace, write it down. And so on.

Make the list as long as possible and begin each sentence with: "I should....". No quotes to repeat!

When you have finished this list, take a new sheet. Now you write down the same subjects but instead of "I should..." you start the sentence with "I want to.....". The same way, no quotes.

Look what happens to you. There are many things you don't want to do. Mark those things on your list. How can you deal with those items?
  • Can you delete them? Is it necessary to do them? Why?
  • Can it be done on a later point in time?
  • Can you say 'no' to some people?
  • Can you delegate them?
  • Can you get some help?
  • Is there an easier way to get it done?
  • Or is there a bigger something that you want that caused that you have to do this. In that case you have forgotten the bigger picture or that bigger picture doesn't exist anymore.

Now you have cleaned up your "Should do" list and changed it in a "Want to do" list. Are there other things you want to do? Learn to relax for instance!? Put those things in addition on your list.

Relaxation and indulging

Give yourself space to do something for yourself. Here is a list of things you can do to relax or to learn relax:
  • Start daydreaming of all good things you get up until now;
  • Use a good relaxing CD program that you always can repeat;
  • Read a book;
  • Listen to calming music;
  • Look at a beautiful movie with images and a story that will make you feel released;
  • Take a bath with relaxing herbs;
  • Indulge yourself with a day in a beauty center, sauna, massage;
  • Buy yourself a relax chair.

If relaxing is not a problem for you, enjoy this time in order to find new desires. If it is difficult to you, remember it will not go overnight to learn relax.
