Steps for Personal Goal Setting and Personal Growth

An other way you can use the personal goal setting steps is to take one step that you want to develop and make this a goal for personal growth. You can use all the steps to achieve this goal and your ability to achieve other goals will grow exponentially.

When you look at the steps, which one would you like to develop?
  • Receiving everything in a grateful way?
  • Appreciating yourself, life and other people?
  • To destress and relax and enjoy life?
  • To know what your real desires are?
  • The ability to imagine specifically what you desire?
  • To believe in yourself with confidence and conviction?
  • To communicate in an easy way, without fear of rejection?
  • To know where you can find information to examine your possibilities?
  • To make a good, structured plan and stick to it?
  • To make decisions?
  • To take motivated actions?
  • Persistence, patience?

Steps for Goal Setting

Which of these steps do you get stuck on? Or perhaps there is an other obstacle that came up in your mind while you read this.

If you are getting stuck on a particular step, the cause is always on a previous step. Go one step back and examine if you are confident with the outcome of practicing it. If so, do an other step back, until you stumble across the step you didn't perform well.

Let me give you an example.

Take the case that you make a plan because you want to make a website. You put everything you know that should be done on a piece of paper.

But then you discover that you don't know enough about the subject. You don't know in which order you should do the tasks and you are doubting whether you miss some important knowledge.

This can mean that you didn't make your research thoroughly (one step back). Or/and you didn't talk to people who have experience with building a website business (two steps back). It could be that you do not even believe that you could do it (three steps back). Or further back if needed.

Let us say, because you are shy, you didn't talk with people who are experienced and who could have given you advice about which site builder companies are reliable and what is acquired to do in order to start a successful home business.

In this case you make "speaking easily to unknown people and asking for help" your goal.  Now you apply all the personal goal setting steps on this goal.

Personal Growth

Step 1: Start with receiving what you've got: you don't know how to plan and you miss a lot of information because you are afraid that people would reject you. Acknowledge this fact.

Step 2: Then appreciate this because it gives you the possibility for personal growth.

Step 3: Relax and be patient, stress will bring you nowhere.

Step 4: Your desire could be to feel your power without fear of rejection.

Step 5: Imagine now how you speak to unknown people with confidence and conviction.

Step 6: You get excited and you change all disbeliefs in the belief that you can do this. You commit yourself to it.

Step 7: Now first you start to speak with people you know and trust about your desire. You will get tips and advice.

Step 8: Next you start to research, you read books about communication, you look at people who communicate easily to learn how they perform and perhaps you look for a communication course.

Step 9: Then you start to organize and plan all possibilities that you could do to overcome your shyness.

Step 10:You make a decision about which of the possible solutions you choose.

Step 11:Then you take action upon the chosen solution to develop this new habit.

Step 12:It will take some time but when you persist you will have so much more power that you will find your way to make a beautiful website and all possible other goals in your life will be achieved much more easily.

The steps for personal goal setting may bring you everywhere you want if you use them for personal growth.
